About

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is  we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

~Luciano Pavarotti

Welcome to Rachna’s Kitchen !

I am Rachana, author of this blog. An Indian, now living in London with my husband and a 2-year-old son.

“I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate.” ― Julia Child

That’s so true in my case. But I was not 32 when I started cooking 😉

So I was not into cooking in my early life as my focus was on my studies only. Neither my mum allowed me in kitchen till before the marriage. After marriage I felt the same way as many of girls feel ” how to cook”. Then I researched online, taking recipes on phone and next the trials of the recipes.

I am a self-taught cook with my many epic kitchen fails, I have learned cooking my way through trial-and-error. While learning so many things I thought to gather all information it at one place which resulted into this blog : Rachna’s kitchen.

Before the my days in food blogging I had the usual mis-conception that food blogging is just writing some steps of making a recipe, however since I started food blogging I have realised the nitty-gritties of professional food blogging which involves activities like developing recipes, cooking, necessary research, photography, writing, managing website and many more.

Coming to my life philosophy.

“I cook my daughter breakfast every day… no one will feed you as well as somebody who loves you. I believe that. I believe there’s a tangible, transferable value of love in cooking for people” — Alton Brown

Through these years I have learned to feel that happiness comes by making full bellies and smiling faces of my family and friends. That’s my blog’s tagline Tasty food happy life. True isn’t it  ?

About my blog

I started this blog in 2013 as a hobby but later I found myself more engaged in its activities and decided to take it as a profession to generate some income. So that’s how I became a professional food blogger. Although I had this as a profession now, I did not want to get into a rat race of generating money and spoil all the fun so I guess that would be one of the reasons that the blog started with a slow traffic growth but it has grown as per my expectation. In October 2016 My blog received 142,808 views with 110,530 unique visitors which I realised was a tremendous success. I also got an opportunity to work with a number of big brands during my blogging journey till date, you can also have look at featured and clients.

From last year I have started to make food videos on YouTube . Please support and subscribe our channel – https://www.youtube.com/user/rachnaskitchen

I am passionate about photography. Besides food photography, I’ve also dabbled in Newborn photography recently.

My each recipe published on my blog is with step by step pictures and instruction. All recipes are my own tried and tested unless otherwise stated. If you would like to re-post any of my recipes please ask first and give credit. All work on this website is copyrighted, go through privacy policy to learn more.

Dear publishers, If you feature my recipes, please don’t hesitate to ask for high resolution pictures without watermarks.
