Homemade fruit punch recipe

fruit punch recipe

Fruit punch is a thirst quenching monsoon drink. This fruit punch mock tail is a very good combination of bright coloured fruits and lemonade. Instead of lemonade you can use sparkling water or seltzer or club soda. It is just personal choice. I wanted to make this drink perfect for kids so it should be healthy. This fruit punch is really simple and bites to juicy fruits makes it heaven. To make it more healthy  you can add honey in place of sugar. Choosing fruits is also individual choice. I wanted this drink to look like rainbow so chose blueberry, strawberry, mango, kiwi  and raspberry.

“History of this fruit punch drink says that the word punch is from Sanskrit, meaning “five”, as the drink was originally made with five ingredients: alcohol, sugar, lemon, water, and tea or spices.

The drink was brought to England from India by sailors and employees of the British East India Company in the early seventeenth century. From there it was introduced into other European countries. When served communally, the drink is expected to be of a lower alcohol content than a typical cocktail.” – source wikipedia

Ingredients

Blueberries- ½ cup
Raspberries-½ cup
Strawberries- ½ cup (chopped into pieces)
Mango – ½ cup (chopped into pieces)
Kiwi- ½ cup (chopped into pieces)
Lemon juice -½ cup(approx. 3 lemons are enough)
Sugar/Honey – ½ cup
Water-½ cup (for syrup) +1½ cup( for dilution)

Let’s prepare fruit punch

Let’s make lemonade first. So to start make a simple sugar syrup. Place a sauce pan over medium heat, pour ½ cup of water first and then add sugar. Stir it and bring it to a boil. Once sugar get dissolved completely then remove the pan from heat.

Now in a pitcher add lemon juice , sugar syrup and 1½ cup of chilled water. Stir it to mix. The perfect lemonade is ready. Refrigerate it for at least 20min. Meanwhile let’s prepare the serving glasses for fruit punch.

Take two serving glasses. If you want to sugar the rim of glasses do it. I don’t feel it necessary so skipped this step. Chop the five fruits which we chose. Now arrange the layers of fruits in glasses.

When lemonade get chilled, add to the glasses. Top up the glass with ice and mint leaves. Serve the beautiful home made fruit punch immediately.how to make fruit punch
