haldi wala doodh recipe

Haldi wala doodh recipe or haldi ka doodh is the best home made immunity booster concoction. It is prepared with turmeric powder and milk specially the cow’s milk.

In India, I have grown up drinking this turmeric milk whenever cold weather strikes my health. I can say that it a pure panacea. In hindi it is better known as haldi ka doodh (Haldi for turmeric and doodh for milk). I have also posted saffron almond milk and fresh figs milkshake. Both are full of nutrients and beneficial to health. Other health drinks are –

Strawberry blueberry  smoothie
High protein apple smoothie
Papaya smoothie
Banana berry smoothie

Benefits of haldi milk

It is proved that  turmeric is a natural Anti-Inflammatory Compound. It could aid in healing if taken properly.

In India, turmeric is a ubiquitous ingredient in curries and rice dishes.

It as an anti-inflammatory and an alternative to a caffeinated drink

Benefits of having turmeric milk at night

Milk in itself is source of calcium, sodium, proteins, vitamins (A, K and B12), fats, amino acids, fibers and anti-oxidants.

According to Ayurveda, having hot milk with turmeric at night improve the skin, immune system, reduce joint pain, and relax the body for sleep.

 Coming to recipe

To make haldi wala doodh,  try to use cows milk as it has just the right amount of fats and proteins to ensure the turmeric is absorbed alongside.

But other milk also benefit equally. You may try coconut milk, almond milk and nut milk as alternatives.

Cow’s milk provides just the right amount of fats and proteins to ensure the turmeric is absorbed alongside.

Don’t use honey as it is not an ingredient in Ayurveda. Use maple syrup or simply sugar.
