 ginger tea recipe

Word Chai means tea. Chai is an Urdu word but originally it comes from Persian chay which originated from the Chinese word for tea 茶 chá.  It is popular all over India and now in world. Ginger tea is also known as adrak wali chai in Hindi.

Ginger has a pungent smell and a very hot taste. It has many high nutrients. It is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Ginger is one of the very few superfoods. Having ginger in tea is beneficial not just because it can cure morning sickness but also improves digestion.

But having ginger tea on empty stomach can cause discomfort. So I suggest to always make ginger tea with milk for mornings.

To prepare ginger tea with milk, I also add some Indian spices too. If this is too hot for you, you can skip it.

The secret of good masala chai is to cook through decoction by simmering spices, tea, ginger  and milk on low heat to extract flavours.

This ginger tea is a must drink in my family and I can say that I am a huge fan of tea. Till date I have tried and had numerous tea recipes and this one is of the best of them. Let see how to make Indian ginger tea or adrak wali chai.
