Mango mastani, How to make mango mastani | Mango mastani recipe

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Mango mastani recipeMango mastani is a delicious thick mango milkshake served with ice cream along with dry fruits as toppings. Mango mastani is a popular mango drink which hails from Pune, Maharashtra. I have tasted this mango mastani once in my life when I visited Pune few years back. I am not a big fan of mango shake and couldn’t imagine that mango’s shake could taste so delicious till the date I tasted this mango mastani. Combination of ice cream with mango makes it like heavenly rich. The cherry on the top makes it look more beautiful.

Warning – Please have this mango mastani drink when you have empty stomach as it is really heavy:-) (Just joking but its true that this drink is very filling.)

Mango MastaniAbout the history of this drink, I don’t know how the name of this beautiful drink is coined. There is not much information available on internet. Some sources say that this drink is named upon beautiful Mastani queen, although there is no proof for this. She was the wife of Peshwa Baji Rao of Maharashtra. Queen Mastani was very beautiful so this drink.

If you are making this drink out of season. You may use mango pulp which is available in market all months.
